Our Process

How we deliver reliable, easily accessible and precise information

Here at Miyagi, we pride ourselves on providing you with up-to-date and evidence based information that takes the fuss out of health information. We know that there are many mixed messages circulating around, so we do the critical thinking for you, leaving you well equipped to manage your health and wellness. You can trust in us to communicate the best information possible by knowing that all information goes through a rigorous Editorial Process.

Our editorial process was developed here, at Miyagi, from the ground up. But what is the process and why do we need it?

Our team creates, edits and reviews content in house following our 3 step process. The first (1) sourcing and analysing reputable information; (2) medical accuracy review; (3) continual monitoring and updating of content. This guarantees your ability to trust us with evidenced based information at your fingertips.

1. Sourcing and analysing reputable information

When people search for information regarding their health, all they ask is that it is accurate. Here at Miyagi, we ensure that we are sourcing, using, analysing and communicating the latest evidenced based information.

Our team of carefully selected content creators, of which are Accredited Practising Dietitians, translate the latest health information from trusted scientific journals, health organisations and foundations into an easy read for you. You can trust that with their background in health, they can spot fact from fiction, and are able to communicate educational content that is unbiased and accurate.

2. Medical accuracy review

We want to make sure that everything we puslish is trusted, unbiased, research backed and accurate for our readers. That’s why all of the health information we bring to you is reviewed for medical accuracy by our medical experts.

As you know, our content is originally written by a team of carefully selected Accredited Practicing Dietitians, which is then passed over to be reviewed by our leading experts. Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ross Walker or our Chief Behavioural Scientist, Dr Gina Cleo, are the expert health care professionals who make sure that the information you read is correct. This pair have both a varied and extensive experience in their respective fields, so you can trust that our medical reviews know what they are signing off on.

3. Continual monitoring and updated of content

Health information is in a constant state of evolution. Emerging research overturns old ideas, and terminology can quickly become outdated.

At Miyagi, we are committed to ensuring that our content remains up-to-date with the most recent research for continued accuracy. That’s why we have dedicated teams of editors and experts who work vigilantly behind the scenes, identifying and revising any outdated information.

This team diligently monitors changes in healthcare standards, new clinical guidelines, drug approvals or recalls, and significant practice recommendations. That way, our content can be revised to reflect the latest, most precise, and valuable information.

Our commitment to maintaining accurate content involves regular content audits: We conduct audits of our content throughout the year to address changes in language, medical terminology, and trends within health communities.

You, our readers, are our priority at the end of the day. That’s why we have these editorial processes in place so that your health journey is one thing you don’t have to worry about.
